Living in the Now

If you aren’t a newbie to the metaphysical world, you’ve heard the phrase “Living in the Now” many times. The question is: do you know what it means?

My ‘meaning’ of it has changed several times as I come to a new level of understanding. For a long time it was difficult to get in the realm of “living in the now”. Some gurus make it sound like you just have to give up what you want. That’s not true. (And it caused me a major headache for a long time.)

But how do you live in the now without losing what you want?

Good question. And I will endeavor to explain, but I do think this is one of those things that you won’t know until you know. Sorry about that - it's true.

So, living in the now.

First off, this is assuming you have asked the universe for what you want, solidified it outside time and space in the 4th dimension, and no longer need to concentrate on it.

That’s right. Part of Living in the Now is no longer concentrating on what you want. For one thing, You need to FEEL as if you already had it and IF you already had it, you wouldn’t NEED it anymore so you would not think about it all the time. Which is a hard concept to get past when you really, really, really want something.

Have you noticed that things you don’t really care about – like getting a Pepsi or a cupcake – are simple? You think about it, then you forget it. And then Ta-da! It shows up. Quickly. And you wonder, now how do I do the same with something I really, really, really, really want?

The fact is, you have to no longer desire the item. Now that does not mean you don’t want it. Because let’s face it. You do. But it does mean that you are existing in the place of already having it. So you no longer concentrate on or desire said thing.

And that’s scary at first when you desire something incredibly important to you. It’s hard to give up the wanting of it. For one thing, society tells us we have to work hard and concentrate until something is done.

A common misconception is “I have to keep trying because it’s not here yet.” And yet, it’s probably not here because every day, every hour, sometimes every second, you notice it’s not here and your feelings put out disappointment and desire. And, of course, you then focus on what you want again, because obviously you must not have done it right the first time.

Stop thinking about it. Right now. Just stop. I want you to think about how you feel when you dream about said desire. I’m not talking about the wanting. I’m talking about have you dreamed about said desire and carried it through to the after part? Where you feel … completion? Bliss? Satisfaction? What do you feel when it’s done?

Got it? Know that emotion and feeling? GOOD!

Now, stop desiring your dream. Stop thinking about it. Stop meditating over it. Stop asking the universe for it. Because that just slows it down. Instead, Just say “I AM…” And insert the chosen feeling.

  • I AM complete.
  • I AM blissful.
  • I AM satisfied.

And you don't need to choose one of these - choose the emotion that fits how YOU feel after achieving your dream, goal. A friend of mine described that feeling once as "How you feel AFTER you return from the trip to Disneyland, not before or during."

And each time you feel bad, each time you consider thinking about your dream and that it's "not here", allow yourself to feel that "I AM..." emotion. Now, calm and collected, complete, blissful, and satisfied, you are no longer sending out constant “WANT” or “NEED”. Instead, you are sending out the exact emotion that matches the emotion you will feel when the end result appears. You will be calmer and chaos will not rain. Which means the universe will be able to send you inspiration and clues easier because you aren’t busy 100% of the time wanting.

That, my friends, is living in the now. It doesn’t mean you give up your dreams. It means you exist in the end result. Not in your mind or your dreams. But in how you feel.

And when you want something new? You visualize it, meditate on it, find the feeling, and mentally tell yourself “It is done.” Then go back to living in the feeling.

Neville Goddard talks about the ‘day of rest’ as it is mentioned in the Bible. He says the days aren’t 24 hour spans of time, but timeframes from when we realize what we want to when we receive it. There are 6 spans of time to going through the process of realizing we want something to solidifying it in our universal consciousness. Then we ‘rest’ from those labors on the 7th span of time. The time frames are not equal and we cannot time them. But we have to ‘rest’ or “Live in the now” for that 7th span of time if we want to get what we want.

Plus, it’s a wonderfully peaceful way to live.

So, hup to! Live in the now people. :D
