Why constantly reading the Gurus and hanging out with 'make it' people can actually be a detriment

Okay, I'm going to say something shocking. Hanging out with all the people who are sharing fantastic stories of how people brought to them their fondest dreams might be sabotaging your goals. Now, before you scream and run off into the night, let me explain why. I am part of a few groups on Facebook and elsewhere that I will admit I don't attend very often. Why? Because the energy is good, BUT, people tend to post 1 of 2 things - total disbelief, or stories wherein a person had never heard of this before, put one hint to work, and BAM ! Days or less than a month later, they've got their million dollars or their spouse, or their house. Now, at first when you are trying to learn, that's exciting stuff! And don't get me wrong - that's GOOD! You should hear how people used these teachings to make the lives they've always dreamed of. BUT, if you've been working on a dream for weeks, months, years, decades ...and you are doing everything right and i...

Don't help. Don't get in the way.

Hello, friends. So, you are on track, right? You've read your current guru's books, are doing what they've told you, feeling good...and yet, nothing's happening? Surely that couldn't be? So, being the good human you are, you try and 'help'. *sound of annoying buzzer going off* Stop! I hate to tell you this, but your 'helping' just slows everything down. Yep, it does. Whatever you choose to call it (universe, source, divine mind, god - I will refer to this power as Divine Mind for the rest of this message) knows what it is doing and doesn't need any help from a human, thank you very much. So every time you try and 'help' you actually throw things off and lengthen the time between when you ask and when you receive. So what can you do? Do you really want to know? Relax. Affirm. Enjoy. Feel good. Laugh. Have fun. Show your gratitude for everything you have been given (and yes, that includes your dreams). Now, that doesn'...

Making Intention Cards

Hello, my friends! I know - I fuddled on this one. Real life took over and all of this took a backseat. But I have kept thinking - I need to tell them how to do Intention Cards! So, here I am:) Okay, so do you have the items I had listed in the   Intention Cards Supply List ? You will want to have them on hand as you do these. Now - first and foremost - do only one at a time. If you want to do several in a day, take a break between, go for a walk, watch a TV show, read a book... you get the idea. You will be putting yourself, your hopes, your dreams into these cards. And you want each one to reflect that specified intent. The reason I told you to get 12 of them is that  A: It is a nice round number. B: If you wish to create your own Tarot Deck, this is a good start. C: I tend to work in twelves – I don’t know why. But, we are here to talk about intentions. So... away we go.

Be like the rocks - #positive

Image
Be like a what? Watch a stream. The large rocks sit there and just let the water flow by. Negativity will hit us. It comes from other people and occurrences all the time. But we do NOT have to take it in or let it move us. When a negative thought comes , let it flow by and just change your mind to something else... like turning a television station. I'm not saying it is easy. It takes awhile to realize that fighting the negative thought, getting upset by it, trying to push it away is actually a fruitless endeavor  Remember, whatever we give our focus to gives it more power. When something negative comes to mind, just let it float by while you turn your mind to something else. I find positive affirmations are good to have prepared for times like these. Until you get good at letting the negativity float by without paying it any attention, repeating a positive mantra in your head can help dispel the negative energy. Now, go and let the negativ...

Feel the pain . . .

Ya know - before I got into exercise a few years ago, whenever I would hear someone say "Feel The pain" when they were talking about exercise, I would think "Yeah, right!" Well, now I am such a person. I love that burn. I have been doing an affirmation on being in perfect health and being a size 6, and for the last 6 months have been doing cardio, but to no avail (or at least it seemed it). I started weight-training again yesterday (first time in 7 years - yikes!) and found out a few things - I am feeling the burn again, YAY; I wake up sore again, YAY, and I also had my body-fat percentage measured and found that all that cardio had made a difference, I may have stayed the exact same weight, but I was burning off 7% of my body fat! YIPPEE!~ Added to that - my perfect health mantra must be working. I find all the foods I used to love either tasteless, or even worse, gross. Now I am starting to look at trying to eat Lettuce (GASP!~). Yeah, I have never been a fan of t...

Day 24 - Good day

(Originally posted Aug 12, 2008 Boundless Living Challenge ) Well, today has been a good day. I realized I needed to be a little more balanced in what I was doing. I was giving all of my attention to my goal and to getting rid of resistance, and I think it was making me off center. So, I exercised, read, finished de-cluttering my room (as well as cleaned it), and this evening I am watching You Can Heal Your Life again. Watching the movie reminds me of why I purchased Louise Hay's book in June and how far I have come. This is remarkable ~ that I have made so many changes and made so many leaps in just 2 months. I am going to pick up my affirmations that I did from June through July again. They were what started me off and really got me going. I am going to keep up my EFT and 10-10 list. Besides that, I am going to just work on my goals and see where they take me, hopefully with a little more balance. I look forward to a time when I can feel this calm on a more constant basis. Yes, ...
