Golden Light Meditation

I want to share with you what I call my Golden Light Meditation.

Let me start off by saying I am a Reiki Master and Trainer, so I see light as gold anyway. In fact, before I even got my first Reiki attunements, I always saw clean, healing light as golden. Once I started practicing Reiki, I was able to see that light coming in through the top of my head and out of my hands. Clean, pure, healing energy.

So that is your first thing - Imagine a light, whether it be gold, white, or yellow. One that makes you think warmth and comfort. That is the light you should have in mind when you do this. For me it is gold, but that does not mean it has to be for you. Just as long as it is in the gold, white, yellow spectrum.

Lay or sit somewhere quiet. I prefer to lay down because I can get so comfortable that way. But I know many prefer to sit so that they don't fall asleep. Personally, I think falling asleep is actually helpful with this type of meditation as it carries everything you just meditated on into the bliss of sleep where your subconscious can use it to better you and your life.

You can do this with meditative music or not. That is your choice. Remember that unless you do meditation on a daily basis, it takes practice to achieve a truly relaxed state.

Close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and slowly release it out your mouth. Do this three times.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and while slowly releasing it out of your mouth, mentally say the word 'three' three times. Imagine the top third of your body relaxing and sinking into your bed/sofa.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and while slowly releasing it out of your mouth, mentally say the word 'two' three times. Imagine the middle third of your body relaxing and sinking into your bed/sofa.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and while slowly releasing it out of your mouth, mentally say the word 'one' three times. Imagine the bottom third of your body relaxing and sinking into your bed/sofa.

Continue to breath slowly. In through your nose, out through your mouth. Mentally say the word "relax" and tell yourself that at any point in the meditation if you realize you have popped out of it, that you will instantly return to your deepest state by saying the word 'relax'.

Now imagine your light coming in through the top of your head. For me it is the entire circumference of my skull, but you may find at first it is just a small beam, and that is okay. Imagine that light slowly flowing throughout your entire body.

Covering your skin, filling every tissue, chakra, and cell within you.

When you can see yourself covered and filled in this wonderful light, imagine the beam coming into your head turns into a faucet and the light becomes the purest of healing liquid flowing into you. It flows along you, turning what was flickering light to smooth, clear, gold.

You can feel the liquid light pour through you, entering each cell and purifying it, bringing renewed health and vigor.

Cross your arms and place each hand on the alternate shoulder. Imagine the golden light coming out of your hands and multiplying a hundred fold as it flows back into you. With each new pass, the light becomes brighter, smoother, more fulfilling.

Now is the time, if you have a specific need, to request it of the great I AM that is your human imagination, knowing that while your conscious self may not know the answer, that the greater you, in fact, does. Place that request and let it go, focusing on the pure liquid light flowing through you.

Relax. Bask in the feeling. At this point, you may fall asleep, and that is perfectly okay. Or you may find yourself in such a deep state of relaxation and you just cannot move. That is okay too. Conversely, you may find yourself invigorated with the need to get up and so a specific something.

Do what you need to do. If you feel the need to do anything besides stay where you are, take a deep breath in through your nose, letting it out slowly through your mouth and mentally slowly count from 1 to 5, one number per breath.

When you reach the count of 3, your body will start to feel like you again.

By 4, you may find yourself moving your fingers and straightening your head in preparation of coming out.

By 5, your eyes can open and you take another deep breath and as your release it, enjoy what you just did for yourself. It counts in ways you may not understand.

Now you can get up and do what you intended.

I suggest doing a Golden Light Meditation daily if you can. It is calming and invigorating at the same time.
